Founded in 1997 in New York City, Theory produces sleek, modern clothing—with an emphasis on fit and fabric—for the intelligent, active, fashion-savvy customer. Our Women’s, Men’s, and Accessories collections fuse great separates and outfits together, using lycra-spun fabrics to create Theory’s signature “stretch.” With an extended retail presence through the US, Asia, and Europe, Theory is a global company devoted to its people and its product. The Theory Icon Project began in 2005 as a way to further those beliefs—encouraging iconic initiatives through a program of events, exhibitions, and sponsorships. Theory defines “iconic” as an endeavor that is visionary, and is proud to announce that the Theory Icon Project is collaborating with The Fund for Public Schools in September and October. Previous affiliations of the Icon Project include a collaboration with Public Theater to commemorate HAIR, a painting performance and installation by the artist David Ellis, a product collaboration and installation with charity: water, and the Friends of the High Line project to create a new park in downtown Manhattan.
